Spiritual Truth You Can Depend On

The Fundamentalist’s Financial Policy

Please consider these two Scriptures:

  • “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”
    Romans 13:1
  • “…Then saith he unto them, ‘Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:21

It may seem surprising to many that this is not a ministry that offers a tax advantage to the disciple wishing to contribute. I believe, though an argument can be made that the taxation of the public is excessive and unfair, that we are all beneficiaries of the services of the government. We all receive military protection, all enjoy the freedoms granted under the Constitution and all receive services from federal, state and local entities. These benefits may be either direct, or indirect.

This is not a 501 C-3 ministry. By refusing to accept tax free benefits we eliminate the leverage that is so often used against the church to coerce, or silence the message coming from the pulpit. I do not expect a break from any level of government and, in turn, I will not extend a break to them. The message will always be in accord with the Word of God, if it is found to be offensive or politically incorrect, let it be taken up with God!

If you are looking for a place to defer a portion of your taxable income, then I would rather you not help to fund this effort. I welcome support from the faithful who like what they read and think that the support of a philanthropic ministry is valuable to the Kingdom of God without the provision that they receive something in return for their generosity. If the only way to encourage support is to help people find a way to keep from ‘Caesar’, that which is ‘Caesar’s’ then may God hasten my failure.

I will not pretend that I am not going to use a portion of the receipts to help sustain my own expenses, as it is written,

  • “…Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.” 1 Timothy 5:18.

Though I hope to support myself and my family from the work I am herein undertaking, I intend, and pledge, to do it in a rather unique fashion. I pledge to operate this ministry as a not-for-profit enterprise, in that I will retain only the bare minimum necessary to sustain my family, cover web fees, incidental business expenses and pay the taxes on the amounts that this endeavor may generate. All monies in excess of the minimum necessary to sustain my family, expenses and taxes will be given to charitable concerns. Any charitable recipient of proceeds dispensed by ‘The Fundamentalist’ will be based in Christ and will operate on a budget that maintains costs for ‘all other expenses’, (those not directly benefiting the intended recipient, such as administration and advertising expenses), totaling less than 20%.

The amount of money retained for the expenses of this
ministry will be calculated as follows:

The Fundamentalist will retain only 20% of the donated
receipts until the total amount retained equals
$3000.00 / mo.

IN EXCESS OF $3000.00 /mo.

If this sounds like a straight forward approach to fund raising, one that you can get behind, then I invite you to join in supporting this effort in what ever amount that you may be prayerfully led to consider.
